My favorite dog quote: A man is not a great man because he is a good talker A dog is not a great dog Because he is a good barker I learned to love dogs 20 plus years ago when I moved into the 6,000 sq foot house of a woman who was a breeder Rottweilers. She had 9 dogs at any given time plus puppies, a parrot, a cat, 4 Finches, and 2 horses outside in a barn. This woman had a capacity to love and train the fabled stubborn Rottweilers in a way that impressed me from the start. She treated her dogs like dogs but her dogs were spoiled "Rottenweiler" as she used to say and they knew it! I learned that consistent firm but not aggressive discipline worked and made the dogs lovely to be around. I have since spent much precious time in the company of Rottweilers, and just about every other breed and mixed breed dogs too and I am never happier than when I am on a trail with my doggie Pet Sitting buddies!
